Group Coaching – it’s better together!
Harnessing the power of community can help you feel more motivated and empowered to make sustainable behaviour changes with valuable support every step of the way to achieving better health outcomes now and longer term.
Research shows that joining a group coaching programme can have the following benefits. Participants can expect to:
- make new connections and develop a support system
- share feelings with others and gain new perspectives
- learn from collective wisdom and experiences
- achieve goals more easily
- celebrate successes together
- receive great value for their investment of time and money
I regularly deliver the NHS ‘Healthier You’ Diabetes Prevention Programme in South Cumbria, with venues in Barrow and Ulverston. Your GP can refer you onto these effective 9 month programmes if you have a recent HbA1c blood test result that falls within the pre-diabetic range. Successfully taking part in, and completing these health coaching groups, equips you with important knowledge, key skills and effective tools to reduce and regulate your blood glucose levels. You will be fully supported to implement necessary lifestyle changes for the longterm that will greatly reduce your risk of going on to develop Type 2 Diabetes.
Group Coaching would be a perfect springboard to 1:1 coaching with me. Ideal for anyone who needs a continuation of support for a longer length of time, with a more personalised approach, individual coaching and a plan that is specifically tailored to them reaching their own unique health goals with ongoing accountability.
I also run events at Pastures New Health Foods in Barrow-in-Furness and work in this family business as a health coach to support customers with their health related concerns, specialising in blood glucose management and diabetes support. You can get in touch here to discuss your unique needs and find out about upcoming events. I look forward to hearing from you.
Read on to learn how group coaching has helped these participants to make lasting behaviour and lifestyle changes in their lives?
“This has been so good in giving us time to reflect on what we do that is not helping us reach our goals and what we can do to establish habits that get us to where we want to be. Really positive sessions!”
“I’m drinking more water and less juice or fizzy pop, which has helped with my headaches. I’m taking less paracetamol every day.”
“I am making better food choices and increasing the variety of fruit and vegetables that I am eating.”
“I am incorporating 15 minutes dancing which clocks up over 2000 steps and is really fun to do.”
“I am planning and organising walks with my sister. It keeps me accountable and more likely to go than if I plan a walk on my own. It’s good to socialise and chat, we don’t realise how far we are walking.”
“I am managing longer daily dog walks as I have more energy.”
“I am enjoying more physical activities with my daughter because I have the energy to keep up with her now!”
“I have more energy. I feel more productive and positive. Even my family have noticed I am happier and in a better mood.”
The positive ripple effect of working towards your health goals with other people is evident. All participants of a recent group coaching cohort reported improved sleep and energy levels. Their stress levels were noticeably reduced and they all rated their overall sense of well-being higher after taking part in group coaching.
